Industrial Security Oversight Certification (ISOC) Practice Exam

An industrial security program under the Closed Area concept is established through the National Industrial Security Program created by EO 12829. Four federal agencies were designated to set up and oversee these programs for contractors handling classified information: Department of Defense, Office of the Director of National Intelligence, Department of Energy, and Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Closed Areas are physically restricted zones inside facilities where classified work occurs, so access is limited to cleared personnel with a need-to-know, under the oversight of these agencies. Agencies outside this designation, such as DHS, EPA, CIA, or DOJ, do not carry this specific NISP authority under EO 12829.
